Attacked By a WILD Pig šŸ–

On our transit from little Farmers Cay, we had an minor engine failure which resulted in us having to throw the hook down beside a random set of islands. Once we were secure, we took the dingy to a nearby island to let Bella have a break off the boat. As soon as we pulled onto the beach, Bella immediately seemed to be alerted to what was is the woods beyond the beach... we assumed it was a rock Iguana as this was a common sight in the Bahamas.

We all got out if the dingy and as we were walking up the beach a 400 lbs wild pig came bolting out of the forest to attack Bella! This thing could move and was surprisingly keeping up to the dog... Bella ran for her life sensing the pig meant business. Ashley tried to coax Bella back into the dingy and finally succeeded however the pig was not backing down. So I proceeded to yell ā€œHEEEY!!!ā€ at the pig to try to distract it from Bella. Then the pig went right for me so I instinctively slapped it right across the face which was enough to stun it while I ran back in the dingy and was able to push us off the beach. As we were motoring away, 4 more pigs came out of the woods while the large one who attacked us stood their ground. This was a learning lesson for us... Although an island may not be inhabited by humans, beware of what’s lurking beyond... Also, trust your dogs instincts as they will usually sense danger before you.
